About Us
As a child, I always wanted to be a mountie (as in "Royal Canadian Mounted Police") but when I discovered that they did'nt get to ride horses all the time and did'nt get to wear those nifty red coats every day (red being my favorite color as a child) I decided that the next best thing was being a cartoonist.
Over the years, I've been involved in greeting card desing, logo design, animation, newspaper editorial cartooning, book illustration and on plethora (that's a great word that you just can't slide into every conversation) of related projects.
As a sidebar you might be interested to know that I was also the co-creator of the comic book here, Captain Canuck.
I discovered the internet in the early 1996 and decided that it was time to put away my vrayons and see if I could'nt put my talents to work digitally. Good cartoon clip art on the net was sorely lacking and that became my focus. I also wanted to give my subscribers an oppurtuniy to input into the kinds of images they need. Most sites just give you a large selection of images and you can only hope you'll eventually find the right one. Toonaday was to be different because I wanted it to be sunscriber driven. And so subscribers could request particular images to suit their needs.
And talking about subscriber input, Toonaday originally only offered eps files for the MAc. (I got some bad advice in the beginning) At the request of subscribers and otehr visitors to the site, that has grown to include eps, png, jpg and wmf formats as well as gif for both Mac and Windows users.
Fourteen years and over 5200 toons later, Toonaday is still going strong with no end in sight.
